Anthropic declined my international card at checkout
A card that works everywhere else failing on one subscription form is a normal outcome. What to check, what to stop doing, and the rail that skips it.
The short answer: an international card failing on Anthropic's checkout is a payment-side event, and it is common enough that it carries no message. The card is not necessarily broken, the account is not necessarily flagged, and repeatedly trying the same attempt is the one action that makes the situation worse.
Why this checkout is stricter than others
A subscription form for a US merchant, billed monthly, in a currency that is not your card's base currency, stacks several ordinary filters at once. The 3-D Secure challenge may not survive the checkout frame. The billing address the form collects may not match what the bank holds. A bank that allows one-off foreign purchases may still block a recurring one. None of these are visible to you, and none of them mean you did something wrong.
Stop doing the obvious thing
- Stop retrying the same card in a loop. Attempts are counted, and the block that follows is often silent.
- Stop editing the billing address by hand to make the form accept it. A mismatch between the form and the bank record is a decline with extra steps.
- Do not conclude the account is the problem. If you can sign in and open Settings, the account is fine and the wall is the payment.
Ask the bank for the decline reason code instead. That single field tells you more than another hour of guessing, and it is the information we would ask for if you brought it here.
The route that takes the card out entirely
Payment here is crypto only: USDT, USDC, and native TRX, SOL and TON across eight networks. No card, no PayPal, no bank transfer. Claude Pro is 105 CNY, about 14 euro, for one month. Claude Max 5x is 523 CNY, roughly 70 euro, and Max 20x is 1047 CNY, roughly 140 euro. Each product page lists the official CNY equivalent next to it, so the comparison is visible rather than something you have to trust.
The activation input on the Claude side is the Organization ID, under Settings then Account, starting with org_. Copy it rather than retyping it. A value starting with sk-ant- is an API key and cannot open a subscription. We never ask for a password, a 2FA code or recovery codes.
Where the crypto path bites
One invoice, one network, one exact amount. Sending USDT on a chain the invoice did not display, or shorting the amount by the network fee rather than adding the fee on top, leaves funds that moved but never matched the order. That is reconciled by hand, case by case, outside the standard refund policy, and the network fee falls on the sender unless the failure was ours. Keep the transaction hash, since it is the only receipt that exists and no email is ever sent.
One boundary stated plainly: an order cannot fix an account Anthropic will not open. If you cannot reach Settings, there is nothing to attach a subscription to, and we will not take that order.
Tiers, terms and live stock are on the Claude Pro page and the price list. The identifier confusion is covered in where the Organization ID lives, and the sequence after payment is in what happens after you order.
Common questions
Can you tell me why Anthropic rejected my card
No. We do not run their checkout and we cannot see its decision. Ask your bank for the decline reason code, which is the field that actually explains it.
Do I need a US card for Claude
No. Payment here is crypto only, so the issuing country of your card is not part of the transaction at all.
If my card keeps declining, can you just run the payment for me
No, and that is not a service anyone should sell. We never take card data, and we do not act as a payment agent on someone else's instrument.
What does the activation need from my account
The Claude Organization ID from Settings, then Account. It is not a login credential, but keep it out of public posts anyway.
Does paying in crypto change what plan I get
No. It changes only how the money moves. The plan is one month on your own account, with the same access that plan already carries.
Guides

The difference is not quality — it is how many times you can hit the wall before lunch. A practical way to size your plan.

Four routes, ranked by how often they actually work — and the two that quietly cost you the account.
